The present reference tool, which is a humble attempt to place before the English-speaking Muslim children a number of basic Islamic teachings and concepts is primarily aimed at children of age ten years and over and presents topics in an easy-to-use alphabetical format. It also covers a wide range of topics and features cross-references which draw attention to related subjects. Given the fact that some of these Islamic teachings and concepts have been forgotten by many Muslims, and given the fact that some of them have been given wrong definitions or interpretations by some non-Muslims, either deliberately or out of ignorance, an effort has been made here to present these teachings and concepts in their true light and clear picture. All solutions and guidance mentioned in this book are derived from the teachings of Quran and Sunnah and this book gives detailed references on all of its claims. The book comprises 66 pages in total and is written in Urdu language. انسان چونکہ اشرف المخلوقات اور کائنات میں اللہ تعالیٰ کا نائب ہے۔ اس لیے اسے بہت سے فرائض سونپے گئے ہیں۔ ان میں اولاد کی تربیت سب سے اہم فریضہ ہے۔ اللہ رب العزت قیامت کےدن اولاد سےوالدین کے متعلق سوال کرنے سےپہلے والدین سےاولاد کےمتعلق سوال کرے گا۔ کیونکہ جس طرح والدین کے اولاد پر حقوق ہیں اسی طرح اولاد کےوالدین پر حقوق ہیں اور جیسے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں والدین کےساتھ نیکی کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے ایسے ہی اس نے ہمیں اولاد کےساتھ احسان کرنے کا بھی حکم دیا ہے ۔اولاد کی اچھی تربیت میں کوتاہی کے بہت سنگین نتائج سامنے آتے ہیں ۔شیر خوارگی سےلڑکپن اور جوانی کےمراحل میں اسے مکمل رہنمائی اور تربیت درکار ہوتی ہےاس تربیت کا آغاز والدین کی   اپنی ذات سے ہوتاہے۔اولادکے لیے پاک اور حلال غذا کی فراہمی والدین کے ذمے ہے ۔ یہ تب ہی ممکن ہے جب وہ رزقِ حلال کمائیں۔والدین جھوٹ بولنے کےعادی ہیں تو بچہ بھی جھوٹ بولے گا۔ والدین کی خرابیاں نہ صرف ظاہری طور پر بچے کی شخصیت پر اثر انداز ہوتی ہیں بلکہ باطنی طور پر یہ خرابیاں اس کےاندر رچ بس جاتی ہیں۔ والدین کےجسم میں گردش کرنے والےخون میں اگر حرام ،جھوٹ، فریب، حسد، اور دوسری خرابیوں کےجراثیم موجود ہیں تویہ جراثیم بچے کوبھی وراثت میں ملیں گے۔بچوں کے ساتھ احسان اور ان کی بہترین تربیت کرنا دراصل امانت صحیح طریقے سے ادا کرنا ہے اورانکو آزاد چھوڑنا اور ان کے حقوق میں کوتاہی کرنا دھوکہ اور خیانت ہے۔ کتاب وسنت کے دلائل میں اس بات کا واضح حکم ہے کہ اولاد کے ساتھ احسان کیا جائے ۔ ان کی امانت کوادا کیا جائے ، ان کوآزاد چھوڑنے اوران کےحقوق میں کتاہیوں سے بچا جائے ۔کیونکہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی بے شمار نعمتوں میں سے ایک بہت بڑی نعمت اولاد بھی ہے ۔ اور اس بات میں کوشک نہیں کہ اگر اولاد کی صحیح تربیت کی جائے تو وہ آنکھوں کا نور اور دل کا سرور بھی ہوتی ہے۔ لیکن اگر اولاد بگڑ جائے اور اس کی صحیح تربیت نہ کی جائے تو وہی اولاد آزمائش بن جاتی ہے۔ زیر تبصرہ کتاب ’’ حقوق الاولاد‘‘ مفسر قرآن حافظ صلاح الدین یوسف کی اولاد کی اچھی تربیت کے حوالے سے اہم تصنیف ہے۔ اس کتاب میں اولاد کے حقوق کے حوالے سے مکمل رہنمائی فراہم کی گئی ہے۔والدین اس مختصر کتاب کا مطالعہ کریں ان شاء بہت مفید ثابت ہوگی
