Attainment of the Happiness is a most valuable book on the topic of Islamic Monotheism. The very accomplished author of this book was very well-known Islamic scholar and jurist of the present day. Shaykh Salaah Al-Budair has chosen the ahadeeth in this book with due care and diligence. In order to compile thses ahadeeth, he has very meticulously studied almost the entire stock of hadith literature available. Like an expert gems dealer, Shaykh Salaah has chosen only those hadith for the purpose of explaining a particular topic, which were the most relevant in terms of their meanings and context. For this purpose, on some occasions a single hadith has been taken from many different books of Hadith. -

From the day he embraced Islam until the day he died, Abu Bakr As-Siddique (May Allah be pleased with him) was the ideal Muslim, surpassing all other Companions in every sphere of life. During the Prophet`s lifetime, Abu Bakr was an exemplary soldier on the battlefield; upon the Prophet`s death, Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) remained steadfast and, through the help of Allah, held this nation together. When others suggested keeping Usaamah`s army back, Abu Bakr insisted - and correctly so - that the army should continue the mission which the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) had in mind. When people refused to pay Zakaat, and when the apostates threatened the stability of the Muslim nation, Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) was the one who remained firm and took decisive action against them. These are just some of the examples of Abu Bakr`s many wonderful achievements throughout his life. I have endeavored to describe all of the above in a clear and organized manner. But more so than anything else, I have tried to show how Abu Bakr`s methodology as a Muslim and as a ruler helped establish the foundations of a strong, stable, and prosperous country - one that began in Al-Madeenah, extended throughout the Arabian Peninsula, and then reached far-off lands outside of Arabia. Throughout the brief period of his caliphate (about 2 years), Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (May Allah be pleased with him) faced both internal and external challenges; the former mainly involved quelling the apostate factions of Arabia and establishing justice and peace among the citizens of the Muslim nation; and the latter mainly involved expanding the borders of the Muslim nation by spreading the message of Islam to foreign nations and conquering those nations that stood in the way of the propagation of Islam. During the era of his caliphate, Khalifah Abu Bakr As Siddeeq (May Allah be pleased with him) sent out armies that achieved important conquests; for example, under the command of Khaalid ibn Al-Waleed (May Allah be pleased with him) the Muslim army gained an important victory in Iraq. And the Muslim army achieved other important victories under the commands of Al-Muthannah ibn Haarithah (May Allah be pleased with him) and Al-Qa`qaa ibn `Amr (May Allah be pleased with him). In short, the victories achieved during the era of Abu Bakr`s Caliphate paved the way for victories that later took place after Abu Bakr`s death. I have tried to analyze the above-mentioned conquests and to break down the reasons why they were such monumental successes. I particularly pointed out Abu Bakr`s contributions to those conquests: His military strategy, the leaders he chose, the letters through which he communicated with them, and so on. -

Every Prophet had a miracle which he showed to his people and challenged them with. Some of Prophets even had more than one sign as a definite proof that they were sent by Allah; challenging their nations to bring anything similar to it if they denied it. Every sign given to any of the prophets was exclusively meant for his people and when he died, his signs ceased to exist. However, one such miraculous sign shall remain, complete and preserved with the command of Allah, until the day of Resurrection. This miracle is the inimitable Qur’an, the everlasting Book of Allah given to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him). Anyone who lives after the death of this Prophet of Mercy will be able to see it, read it, and realize for themselves the truth that it contains. -

There are best examples in the lifestyle of the Mothers of the Believers and women companions, especially for the Muslim women. It is necessary for all of us to study the Seerah of these noble and fortunate women. Besides the Mothers of the Believers, the compiler of the book has included the descriptions of those sixteen women who had been given the good news of the Paradise in this world by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Since the majority of the followers of Islam are not native speakers of Arabic, and many of them may not have the chance to learn it properly, translation has been resorted to, and however incomplete it may be. But even good translator always finds it difficult to translate the special terms from Arabic. A cursory look at the translation of various Islamic works would reveal the discrepancies between the Arabic text and its translation, on one hand, and the different renderings of the same Arabic terms by different translators or even by the same translator at different times. This dictionary is the solution to these problems.a

(The Advice of Luqmaan) 3.Do not Become Angry 4.Guard the Tongue 5.Be patient and Paradise will be Yours 6.Rizq and Lawful Earning 7.Do not Be Envious 8.The Muslim home - View Sample Pages 9. Young Man! 10. Be Steadfast! Book 1 - The Concise Legacy The Concise Legacy, the first in the Golden Advice Series, is an advice given by Ahmad ibn Taymiyah on matters which will set right one`s affairs of the deen (religion) and dunyaa (world). The framework for this advice is provided by the advice of the Prophet (S) to Mu`aadh ibn Jabal (R): `O Mu`aadh, fear Allah wherever you are, and follow up a bad deed with a good one and it will wipe it out and behave well towards people.` (Tirimidhee) The advice contained in this book covers what would make one attain the good of this world and the hereafter Insha Allaah. Other than being a discourse of how a servant can remain attached to his Lord, the advice contained in this book also focuses on the interpersonal relationship between human beings (i.e. being good to others by giving them their rights, being just to them etc). Book 2 - O My Son! (The Advice of Luqmaan) One of the duties parents owes their children is to guide them aright by educating them. They are obligated to correct their children`s errors and most importantly guide them to live a life that is pleasing to Allaah (Azawajal) by teaching them the means of achieving that. To assist the parents in discharging these responsibilities, Allaah (A) gave clear guidance in the Qur`an. He gave us the example of a dutiful father-Luqman and the advice he gave to his son: `And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: `0 my son! Join not in worship others with Allaah. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allaah is a great Zulm (injustice) indeed.` (Luqmaan [311: 13) Our success as parents is determined largely by how well we are able to discharge those responsibilities Allaah O has placed on us regarding our children. This book explains different aspects of the advice of Luqmaan to his son and its significance for a successful life. Book 3 - Do not Become Angry Much of the flaws that afflict the individual and the community stem from the singular defect of Anger. Allaah (j) and His Messenger (S) have given us instructions regarding the malady and advised us to keep it in check. This work is an extensive discussion of these instructions. We hope that this concise work will aid the one who is afflicted with this flaw to find a cure in, insha Allaah; while the one who is free of it will find enough incentives to keep his emotions under control. Book 4 - Guard the Tongue How many people have earned the wrath of Allaah as a result of misuse of their tongues? How many injuries that may never heal have been inflicted through the careless slips of the tongue? The Messenger of Allaah (S) said: `Indeed, the servant will speak words that are pleasing to Allaah, due to which he will be given a condition in which Allaah will raise him many levels. And indeed, the servant will speak words that are displeasing to Allaah, due to which he will not be given a good condition, but (instead) be thrown into the Hellfire.` (Bukhaaree) This book highlights those sins that seem so light on the tongue yet so grave on the scale and offers practical advice on how to keep the tongue in check. Book 5 - Be patient and Paradise will be Yours After eemaan (faith), the most honorable trait with which man could be endowed is patience. It is the best course of action in all situations. It is a cause for Allaah`s mercy and helps. It is a source of spiritual joy. The final victory in both matters of the world and Hereafter is only earned by patients and the good end beings only to the patient ones. Our trials in this world are numerous and varied. Sometimes, they come as difficulties and some other times in forms of ease. Situations that life turns on us sometimes could stretch our will and faith to the extreme. In all situations, patience and eemaan remain our most valued companions for the Prophet (S) said: `Whoever remains patient, Allaah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience.` (Bukhaaree) This book is a discussion of patience and how to develop that trait so that we might be a recipient of one of Allaah`s greatest blessings. Book 6 - Rizq and Lawful Earning Narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab (R), the Prophet (S) said: `If you put your faith completely in Allaah, He will arrange for your sustenance in the same way as he provides for the bird. They go out in the morning with their stomachs empty and return filled in the evening.` (Tirmidhee) This book discusses the place of pride Islaam gives to making lawful earnings and rizq through hard work and striving. It also looks at the contempt Islaam places on begging and indolence. Then it looks at which earnings are lawful, which are not and the many ways by which wealth can increase while seeking the pleasure of Allaah (A). Book 7 - Do not Be Envious Ever heard of the cause of the first disobedience in the heavens? ENVY! That was it! I bless (Shaytaan) disobeyed Allah, his Lord, out of envy, arrogance, and pride. (See Al-Araaf [7]: 12). Envy is also one of the commonest sins on earth! It is the deadly disease of the heart that destroys personal as well as communal relationships! ENVY: its causes, its effects and how to deal with it, is the subject of this small but beneficial book. May the one Who is afflicted with this disease fine cure in the prescription contained in this book. (Ameen) Book 8 - The Muslim home A home is an important means towards building the Muslim community. The society is made up of homes and it is the origin. The home is life and the life is society. If the home is strong and morally sound, it will reflect in the larger society. Whatever the home is made up of that is the reflection that will be seen in the society. When the society is morally bankrupt it should be traced to the home. To rescue our society from destruction the home needs to be rebuilt on sound footings. The Messenger of Allaah (S) said: `Happiness has four elements; a good wife, a spacious house, a good neighbor and a good riding beast.` (Ibn Hibbaan) From this hadeeth, it can be seen that three out of the four elements of happiness concern the home. This book highlights the means and processes of building a Muslim home which guarantees sakeenah (tranquility). [an-Nahl (16):80] Book 9 - O Young Man! When do we teach our children? What do we teach them? How do we teach them? The Messenger of Allaah (N) showed the way of tarbiyah for Muslims in his life-forming advice to Abdullah ibn Abbas? This book is an insight into the basic Islamic teaching that children should be taught significant things early in life, so that they may live a meaningful life. It is must for every home. Is it not time to call our children and advise them with the words of the Prophet (S)? `O young man, I shall teach you some words (of advice): Be mindful of Allaah, and Allaah will protect you. Be mindful of Allaah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allaah; if you seek help, seek the help of Allaah...` (Tirmidhee) Book 10 - Be Steadfast! Every day we faced threats that shake us just a bit or rock us from the foundation of our being at other times. Such sections make us wonder whether we can remain steadfast and much on! Narrated Sufyaan Ibn Abdullah (R): `I said to the Messenger of Allah (S): `Messenger of Allah, tell me something to which I should hold fast. He said: `Affirm, `My Lord is Allah` and then be steadfast.` Then I said: `Messenger of Allah, what is that you are most afraid of in my case?` He took hold of his tongue and said: `Of this.`` (Tirmidhee) This book, Insha Allah, gives a concise insight into what it means to be steadfast, the kind of sections that necessitate being steadfast and the various ways and means of keeping steadfast in our faith. -

This book has always provoked interest in all societies, even in secular ones like ours. From the dreams of the Prophet Joseph and Nebuchadrezzar down through the ages to our own time, there has been no community which has not regarded dreams as messages to be decoded so that their meaning can be understood and benefited from in the spiritual as well as the temporal domains. Islamic society is no exception to this rule and dreams have always constituted one of the elements which Muslims have used to regulate their lives. Indeed Islam has incorporated this in a practice of Istikhara, or “Seeking the best path to take,” which includes the believer hoping to see a response to his request for guidance in a dream. -

We are living now-a-days in the age of science. The intelligent human beings want to know where did they come from? Where did the universe come from? Will the universe come to an end, if so, how? Is the universe static or dynamic, if dynamic, is it expanding or contracting? What is time? When was it started? Will it come to an end? What are Black Holes? What are the forces of Nature? What is the smallest piece of matter? What is the status of man in the universe? Are there ultimate limits for human beings to know about something? The majority of people especially in the third world are unable to answer these questions. When they are asked such questions, most of them answer with a shrug or with a vague and ambiguous knowledge. On the basis of Holy Qur`an as well as scientific knowledge, we have tried my level best to answer these questions in this book `Astrophysics and the Holy Quran -
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah is one of the greatest scholars and reformers in Islamic history, which emerged at time of great turmoil and confusion to call the Muslims to return to the path of Quran and Sunnah, the path of the prophet (SAWW) and the early generations of this Ummah (Salaf). Ibn Taymiyyah wrote many books, often under the most difficult of circumstances, that describe the path of the salaf and discuss the arguments of Muslims philosophers and of the Baatini and Raafidi groups, pointing out the flaws therein. His thoughts and arguments are still relevant today, at a time that is in many ways similar to his own era. The ummah is in turmoil, faced with decline and confusion, seeking a way put and beginning to realize, after trying so many isms and ideologies, and after being proposed to Raafidi propaganda and corrupt ideas, that the only way to escape this situation is to go back to the path of the salaf, the path of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) and the Sahabah. In this book, Dr. Muhammad Ibn Abd ar-Rahman al- ‘Arifi has selected material from the huge corpus of Ibn Taymiyyah’s work and made it accessible to the ordinary reader sso that he may learn about the thought pf this great scholar of Islam. -

Water is the substance of life, the magic elixir without which life on this planet would be impossible. The Qur`an not only mentions that the creation of all living things began from water, it also talks about various phenomena related to water like the sending of rainfall, the layers of darkness and internal waves in the oceans, the different colors of the seas, cloud formation and the barrier between fresh water and saltwater. Professor Schroeder one of the greatest oceanographers in West Germany used to say, `When science progresses, religion must inevitably retreat`. But when he heard the translation of the meanings of the verses of the Qur`an he was stunned and said, `These cannot be the words of a human being.` Read this book i.e. Scientific Miracles in Oceans and Animals to find out about the astonishing scientific facts which came down to Arabs in the desert who did not know how to swim or sail in the seas and oceans or possess the sophisticated equipment to make such discoveries, discoveries that have left modern scientific researchers, oceanographers and experts speechless and in awe. -

This book describes, among other things, the principles upon which `Umar ibn al-Khattaab (Radi Allah Anh) governed the Muslims during his caliphate; among those principles were mutual consultation, justice, equality among people, and honoring of freedoms. With the turn of every page, the reader will come to appreciate the fact that `Omar (R) was exceptional in his Faith, distinguished in his knowledge, profoundly wise in his thinking, remarkable in his eloquence, noble in his manners and great in the contributions he made to this Nation. We are living in tumultuous times, but they are no less tumultuous than the era of Khalifah `Omar Ibn al-Khatab (Umer/Omer bin Alkhataab), whose life began in Jahiliyah and ended in the Golden Age of Islam. We can learn much from the history of this second caliph of Islam, who was faced with unprecedented challenges but met them successfully within the framework of shari`ah and in accordance with the true spirit of Islam. For those who would be leaders, this book offers the model of an ideal Muslim leader, one who felt responsible before Allah for the well-being of all those under his rile, including his troops, women, infants, non-Muslims, and even animals. Caliph Omar was a `hands-on` leader who kept himself informed and consulted scholars and experts before every major decision. For the rest of us, this book offers a window into an exciting and important period of Islamic history, and it also reminds of an important lesson, that our strength comes not from wealth or money or status, but from our submission to Allah and our commitment to the path of Islam. -

History stands as the most effective and valuable source of putting nation on the course of progress and prosperity and saving them from the path of disgrace and degradation. At a time, when there is tough competition among the nations of the world to excel one another, the Muslim, despite having the most glorious history, appear to be detached and careless as regards their history. This book presents the true Islamic events and their actual causes before the English readers because the other books in the English language found on the Islamic history have been written by such authors and compilers who did no justice in presenting the true picture of Islamic Era but their prejudice prevented them from doing so. -
