In this book, `Qasas-ul-Anbiya` the stories of the prophets have been compiled from `Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah` (The Beginning and the End) which is a great work of the famous Muslim exegete and historian Ibn Kathir and has a prominent place in the Islamic literature. The stories of the prophets and all the events in their lives have been supported by the Qur`anic Verses and the Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet (S). Wherever it was necessary, other sources have also been reported for the sake of historical accounts, but on such places a comparative study has been made to prove the authenticity of the sources. Ibn Kathir has reproduced the views and interpretations of all the great exegetes of the Qur`an of his time. The systemic narratives of the Stories of the Prophets have been written in chronological order which renders a historical style to the book. -
سيرت دينی موضوعات ميں سے ايک اہم تر موضوع ہے جس ميں اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ عليہ وسلم کي ذاتی اور شرعی زندگی کامطالعہ کيا جاتا ہے۔ايک مسلمان ہونے کے ناطے ہماری يہ بنيادی ذمہ داری بنتی ہے کہ ہميں اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ عليہ وسلم کي ذات، حالات، شمائل اور سيرت سے واقفيت ہونی چاہيے۔ ہر دور ميں اہل علم نے سيرت پر کتابيں لکھی ہيں۔امام محمد بن اسحاق (متوفی152ھ) کی کتاب سيرت ابن اسحاق اس موضوع پر پہلی جامع ترين کتاب شمار ہوتی ہے اگرچہ امام محمد بن اسحاق سے پہلے صحابہ وتابعين ميں سے 40 افراد کے نام ملتے ہيں جنہوں نے سيرت کے متفرق ومتنوع پہلوؤں پر جزوی بحثيں کي ہيں۔اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ عليہ وسلم کي سيرت پر مختلف اعتبارات سے کام ہوا ہے جن ميں ايک اہم پہلو سيرت کا فقہی اور حکيمانہ پہلو بھی ہے يعنی فقہی اعتبار سے سيرت کو مرتب کرنا اور اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ عليہ وسلم کے اعمال و افعال کی حکمتيں بيان کرنا۔ امام ابن القيم (متوفی 751ھ)کی کتاب ’زاد المعاد‘ سيرت کے انہی دو پہلوؤں کو سامنے رکھتے ہوئے مرتب کي گئی ہے۔بعض اہل علم نے ’زاد المعاد‘ کو فلسفہ سيرت کی کتاب بھی کہا ہے جبکہ بعض اہل علم کا کہنا يہ ہے کہ امام صاحب کي يہ کتاب ’عملی سيرت‘ کی ايک کتاب ہے۔ امام ابن القيم کی اس کتاب کا ايک خوبصورت اختصار شيخ محمد بن عبدا لوہاب رحمہ اللہ نے ’مختصر زاد المعاد‘ کے نام سے کيا ہے جسے سعيد احمد قمر الزمان ندوی نے اردو ترجمہ کی صورت دی ہے۔ امام ابن القيم رحمہ اللہ کی اس کتاب ميں بعض بہت ہی نادر اور قيمتی و علمی نکات بھی منقول ہو ئے ہيں جو ان کے روحانی مقام ومرتبہ پر شاہد ہيں خاص طور پر ص 350 پر نظر بد کے علاج کي بحث ارواح کی خصوصيات کے بارے عمدہ بحث کی گئی ہے۔ بلاشبہ امام صاحب کی يہ کتاب سيرت کے فقہی،علمی، حکيمانہ اور فلسفيانہ پہلوؤں کو محيط ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ سيرت کا ايک مستند مصدر وماخذ بھی ہے جس کا اختصار افادہ عام کے ليے شيخ محمد بن عبد الوہاب رحمہ اللہ نے کياہے -

From the day he embraced Islam until the day he died, Abu Bakr As-Siddique (May Allah be pleased with him) was the ideal Muslim, surpassing all other Companions in every sphere of life. During the Prophet`s lifetime, Abu Bakr was an exemplary soldier on the battlefield; upon the Prophet`s death, Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) remained steadfast and, through the help of Allah, held this nation together. When others suggested keeping Usaamah`s army back, Abu Bakr insisted - and correctly so - that the army should continue the mission which the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) had in mind. When people refused to pay Zakaat, and when the apostates threatened the stability of the Muslim nation, Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) was the one who remained firm and took decisive action against them. These are just some of the examples of Abu Bakr`s many wonderful achievements throughout his life. I have endeavored to describe all of the above in a clear and organized manner. But more so than anything else, I have tried to show how Abu Bakr`s methodology as a Muslim and as a ruler helped establish the foundations of a strong, stable, and prosperous country - one that began in Al-Madeenah, extended throughout the Arabian Peninsula, and then reached far-off lands outside of Arabia. Throughout the brief period of his caliphate (about 2 years), Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (May Allah be pleased with him) faced both internal and external challenges; the former mainly involved quelling the apostate factions of Arabia and establishing justice and peace among the citizens of the Muslim nation; and the latter mainly involved expanding the borders of the Muslim nation by spreading the message of Islam to foreign nations and conquering those nations that stood in the way of the propagation of Islam. During the era of his caliphate, Khalifah Abu Bakr As Siddeeq (May Allah be pleased with him) sent out armies that achieved important conquests; for example, under the command of Khaalid ibn Al-Waleed (May Allah be pleased with him) the Muslim army gained an important victory in Iraq. And the Muslim army achieved other important victories under the commands of Al-Muthannah ibn Haarithah (May Allah be pleased with him) and Al-Qa`qaa ibn `Amr (May Allah be pleased with him). In short, the victories achieved during the era of Abu Bakr`s Caliphate paved the way for victories that later took place after Abu Bakr`s death. I have tried to analyze the above-mentioned conquests and to break down the reasons why they were such monumental successes. I particularly pointed out Abu Bakr`s contributions to those conquests: His military strategy, the leaders he chose, the letters through which he communicated with them, and so on. -
